新学期がはじまる

(2007-02-28)
Our company has English lessons. It has 3 courses, 2 or 3 levels each. One class is 3 to 6 students. The cost is 2500 to 6000 yen per month. One lesson is 2 hours.
I always think I want to take one of those classes. But I haven’t tried yet. One reason is that I don’t want to talk with my co-workers in English. Some of my co-workers have experiences that they have worked in foreign countries, but they still think to study English. But they don’t take a lesson in the company. They have the same feeling as me.
By the way, recently, we have no chance to speak in English on our businesses. Most of the time, we use e-mail. But the company doesn’t have writing and reading classes. I think those lessons are more useful for our job.
English is always annoying us. Why do Korean people speak foreign word easily? Or they study hard?? Japanese do not have any sense of foreign languages anyway.

MARIE ANTOINETE

(2007-02-27)
I saw the musical Marie-Antoinette last Saturday. As you know, she has lived in 17th century and she was excused by a guillotine. ( By the way, a guillotine was invented by Guillotin. Did you know this?)
I thought this musical showed us her life, but main players were people of France.
It was neither good nor bad. I could see many famous stars and they acted really well, but there weren’t any originality. It copied the musical Elisabeth. It seemed ‘cheap Elisabeth’. The sets were poor. I couldn’t feel they lived in the palace.
The good thing was I could see my favorite actor. He is a good actor, I think, but he is always supporting actor. This time, he had many lines and songs.

This month, I watched 4 plays. The best one was Hamlet acted by Anju Mira. It is hard to find out a good play.

リモコンつき椅子

(2007-02-26)

座椅子I had a dream last night. I don’t remember a whole story, but in my dream I invented a new product.

I meet Akemi-san, and Tsune-chan. Akemi-san asks me if I have already ordered a chair. Then she shows me a flier. It is a legless chair. And a TV remote is on the right chair arm. It seems really convenient.

After I woke up, I thought it was a good idea. Recently, we can’t see a TV without a remote control. We often lose it, and we waste a time to look for. This chair solves that problem. I think it was about 17000yen. No one bother you since you get this chair.
What do you think about my new product? If many people want it, I have to think about a career switch.

HE IS チャーリー・コーセー

(2007-02-23)
A few weeks ago I wrote about Charlie Kose, who sang Lupine Ⅲ’s song.
For its time, when he sang it, only two guys sang cartoon songs, Mizuki Ichiou and Sasaki Isao. So, it was really rare for us to listen to another singer’s song.

Yesterday, I watched TV. And Charlie was singing Lupine Ⅲ. It was amazing. Since Lupine ended, I’ve never heard of him. But just after I wrote about him, he appeared on TV.
Now, he has his own pub in Kobe, and you can listen to his song there.
I think if I want to see someone else, I may write about him/her on my blog.

I WANT A CLOCK

(2007-02-22)
Recently I’, saving money because I want to buy a clock. I look at it on the Internet, and it said, “Tetsu-papa, please buy me”. I wanted to buy it soon, but I don’t have enough money to buy. Then, I decided to save money.
I don’t handle my household account, but I always keep my mind that I don’t spend one thousand yen par day. I sometimes overspend, but not too much. When I want to buy an expensive thing, I remember that clock and say myself, “You don’t waste money”.

I realized that I have wasted too much money. I canceled some channels of Sky Perfect TV. I use toothpaste until it becomes empty. I measure a detergent carefully. I can do a lot of things for saving money.

But I know myself. I won’t be able to continue those lives. I want to know if I can buy the clock or not.

A TRANSLATING SOFTWARE

(2007-02-21)
Our section is thinking to buy translatiing software. All of my co-workers seem good at English but it’s still tough for them to read English.
The software was developed for Medical English and now we can use it for free for a limited time. I tried some translations and showed my co-workers. Some of them complained that they weren’t good translations. I think it is enough because I can see a brief quickly. Did my co-workers think that the software translates as a human does?
Anyway, we cannot remove a tall and thick wall between Japanese and English.

CHIAKI NAOMI-SAN, PLEASE COME BACK

(2007-02-20)
Last week’s Daredemo-Picasso was Chiaki Naomi special.
I think she is the best singer in Japan. I want to say, “She is the best in the world”, but the world is really big, so I can’t say so.
The program introduced her songs. We only know ‘Kassai’, but she has many good songs.
When we listen to the music, we sometimes think ‘these words get to my hearts’, or ‘this music makes me happy’. But it is really rare that we feel ‘she is a really good singer.’
I can see pictures behind her when I listen to her songs. I feel like she sings about her story. When I listen to Kassai, I feel she lost her fiancé and she has been still singing songs.

In that program, I could listen to ‘夜霧よ今夜もありがとう’ and ‘The House Of The Rising Sun’. I’ve never known those were such good songs. I could see Chiaki Naomi was in New Orleans and worked at the Rising Sun.

Now, she doesn’t sing a song. Many fans are waiting for her. I want to listen to her song again.

又、コレか~

(2007-02-19)
Mr. I visited Spain and got back on Feb. 9th, and went to U.S. on 15th and came back yesterday. The first visit was a business trip and the second one was his personal trip. I don’t know why he visited U.S.
He got on a business class at the first trip, but the second one was of course economy. He seems really busy. He always brought some souvenirs. But they are sometimes really creepy. He gave me chocolates when he visited Spain. And he brought Jelly Beans from U.S. American jelly beans are always colorful. I haven’t eaten the all beans that he gave me last time yet. And he gave me jellybeans again. There are countless jellybeans in my desk. It’s kind of bullying.!!??
Fortunately, jellybeans don’t spoil. I hope I finish eating them until I retire.

ルパンだす~ぅ(と昔は聴こえた)

(2007-02-14)
The first series of Lupin Ⅲ started again. Lupin Ⅲ is one of the most famous TV animations. The stories were modern and piquant. But the audience rating was low. I think it was too early for that age. I don’t think I would see Lupin Ⅲ without my mom. She loved Lupin, so she wanted to watch Lupin Ⅲ.
The second series became a big hit. But it lost its charm.
I have watched the first series several times. I think I can explain the story if I see a title.
That Lupin Ⅲ started. I have already recorded on VHS, but I am going to recorded on DVD.
I watched it last night. The song made me nostalgic. Then a caption said the singer was Charlie Kose…. Who is Charlie Kose?? It has been really mysterious. I have never seen his name since Lupin Ⅲ ended. I remember that thing.
Now, if I really want to know who Charlie Kose is, it is really easy, I just type his name and crick. But I want to bring this mystery to my grave.

HAMLET

(2007-02-13)
I went to see Hamlet with Yoshiko last Saturday.
I often watch Hamlet. I don’t think I like Hamlet, so I don’t know why I want to watch it. Classical plays are sometimes heavy. I feel board.

This Hamlet was a musical. The main actress was Anju Mira, who used to be a top star of Takarazuka. I don’t think I like Takarazuka, but I know they produce many good actresses. Anju Mira’s Hamlet wasn’t bad, but she was too small to act a man.
The other actors and actresses were good, too. Especially Ophelia. I have watched several Hamlet, but I have never seen a good actress of Ophelia. This time, Horiuchi Keiko-san acted Ophelia. She learned acting at Gekidan Shiki, and a few years ago, she left Shiki. Since she left, I have no chance to seen her. So, this was the first stage of her after she left Shiki. She became a good actress. Gekidan Shiki sometimes sticks actors in a small box. I think acting Ophelia is very difficult. Ophelia is pure but actresses have already spent a long life.
Gertrud, Hamlet’s mother, was Tategata Hiro. Yoshiko said, “Gross.” That was true. I know he is a good dancer, but there was no dance scene.

I enjoyed the musical. I always think I don't want to watch Hamlet any more.
But I know I will see Hamlet again.

ENGLISH SUBTITLES

(2007-02-12)
I love animations. When I have nothing to do, I always watch an animation. If I start to talk about animations, I can’t stop.
So, I often buy animation DVD software. They are my treasures. I want to bring them into my grave. They’re sometimes very expensive, so I have to consider if I buy or not .
After I bought, I sometimes don’t watch them. I’m satisfied only to buy them. I want to see them after I retire.
I sometimes buy DVDs produced in foreign countries, China or Hong Kong. They are inexpensive, but the pictures are rough. They usually have two subtitles, Chinese and English. English subtitle is very helpful for me. I listen to Japanese and look at English. I can learn how they translate. But I don’t know if it was translated by English speakers. Because sometimes those subtitles seem something wrong. So, I doubt it.
Anyway, watching animations is good practice for me. If you are studying English, I recommend you to watch them.

A DISPOSABLE HEATING PAD

(2007-02-09)
I always wear a disposable heating pad. It is one part of my body as glasses.
Many makers sell disposable heating pads. The fist time it was sold, it was about 100 yen. It became a big sale.
Yesterday I bought 10 pieces of the disposable heating pads. They were about 300 yen. I considered buying cheaper ones. They were about 200 yen.
I used cheaper ones. But they were too hot to wear. I wrapped it by much cloth and put it on my back. It seemed I had a big hump on my back.
The heating pads I bought last night keep a good temperature. It is just a little bit expensive, but it is worth buying.
I waste it everyday. I have to always consider which one I will buy when I buy them.

WHO ARE YOU?

(2007-02-08)
A light of my answering machine was blinking this morning. I sometimes forget to check the answering machine, but I surely checked last night. I thought that someone called me last night during I was sleeping.
As I’ve already said, I always wear the headphones when I go to sleep. So, I don’t realize even if something happens. I don’t know why I can wake up in the morning.

I listened to the message. It was from one of my friends. She said she wanted me to do something and called me again. It was around 11:30P.M.
I really want to know what she wanted to say, while I was lucky not to pick up the phone. If I picked it up, I would be suffering lack of sleep.
Anyway, I said she called me again. I’m just waiting for her call.

EIGO-ZUKE 2

(2007-02-07)
I started Eigo-zuke again. Recently, it is famous for Nintendo DS. But when I met it first time, it was a CD-ROM for computer.
Some people complain about Nintendo’s Eigo-zuke. I’ve never used it before, but I think the CD-ROM is better. If you are a beginner, Eigo-zuke is helpful.
I studied a lot of vocabulary by Eigo-zuke. When I started it last time, it was just before TOEIC. It was very helpful. I had been studied everyday. I finished Eigo-zuke 1.
Then I bought Eigo-zuke 2. Eigo-zuke 2 was really difficult for me. I got tired and stopped studying.
Recently, I realized that many phrases in Eigo-zuke are useful. I decided that I study again. But just after I look at a computer screen, I will be sleepy soon. WHY??? I love a computer screen…
Anyway, I keep studying and memorize one word a day.

SLEEPY...

(2007-02-06)
I usually wear headphones when I go to sleep. They are the headphones but they aren’t. I use them to protect from a noise. The walls in my apartment are very thin and I’m always annoyed by my neighbors. They are college students and don’t know a rule of social life.
The headphones seem like a thing that used audibility test. When I use them, I can’t hear anything. Sometimes I miss the bell rang in the morning.
They are helpful. But I cannot roll over in bed. My head is fastened because the headphones are very big. I can sleep. But I don’t know if I take enough rest.
I sometimes feel that I want to raid my neighbors. Of course, I can’t.
Today, I am very sleepy… I want them to move right now.

KEIHAN ADS

(2007-02-05)
You can see many ads on a train. The best one was an ‘Iemon (a bottled tea)’’s ads. It seemed it could use as a store curtain. It is a good example. But it is really hard to get advertising revenue recently.
I always look at the ads on Keihan Line and almost all of them are Keihan Group’s advertisements. ‘Hirakata Park, Keihan Department store, Keihan Culture School and so on. I worry about their income. The money has come and gone in the group.
Ummm. Keihan has a big problem...

I HAVE BEEN BUSY...

(2007-02-03)
I have been busy recently, so I have no time to write blog.
Last Wednesday, a meeting was finished around 8:00P.M. After that my boss, Mr.I, said that he didn’t want me to leave before we had dinner. I think he is a good guy.
Mr.I, A Little Man, Ue-sama, An Oily Guy, A Swimmer and I went to a Chinese restaurant.
It was close to our office. They said it was reasonable and served delicious food.
It was in underground and very crowded. They had some round turned tables. I didn’t feel hungry because I had some snacks. They ordered a lot of meals. They seem homely. My co-workers drank beer and Chinese sake.
A lady who works there is a beautiful woman. She talked fluently. A Swimmer said she was an announcer. A Little Man drank too much. They were talking about an episode that the day A Little Man couldn’t get home. He is a director but he doesn’t seem such a big man.
A Swimmer and I can drink much. But we love sweets. We had almond jelly and sweet potatoes.
An Oily Man had a discount ticket. He often comes to the Chinese restaurant.
I feel I’m one of the luckiest guys because I have good co-workers.
