新 八犬伝

(2007-03-29)
I like SHIN-HACKENDEN(新・八犬伝). SHIN-HACKENDEN is a story based Nansou-Satomi-Hackenden. It was a puppet show on TV. When I was a kid, I was waiting for SHIN-HACKENDEN in front of TV everyday.

元湯 孫九郎

(2007-03-27)
I watched ADMATICK TENGOKU last weekend. ADMATICK TENGOKU is one of the TV programs and it introduces a part of town.

Last week, it introduced Hida-Takayama. I visited there a couple of times, so I was interested in that program.
They showed me some sightseeing spots. I’ve already visited some of them. It also introduced Takayama-ramen. Takayama-ramen is famous. But the ramen restaurant that we visited wasn’t good. I thought I wanted to see this program before we visited.

There are some hot springs villages in Okuhida. The most famous one is Hirayu Onsen. But ADOMATIC TENGOKU introduced FUKUCHI ONSEN. I thought I had visited there.
And it recommended MOTOYU-MAGOKUROU. Oh! That is the one that Ito-chan, Mike-san and I stayed. MAGOKUROU is the best hot springs I’ve ever visited.
The quality of the water is best. They have two different sources of hot springs. So you can enjoy both of them. One is clear water and the other is cloud water.
MAGOKUROU wasn’t crowded. It was inexpensive. Meals were nice. You can eat local foods. The house seemed that it had a long history. You can go to a morning market.
I don’t usually think that I want to visit again. But MAGOKUROU is only one hot springs that I want to visit again.

I can trust ADMATIC TENGOKU. They know really good places.

MY FATHER

(2007-03-25)
KIF_0129.JPGToday, I want to talk about my father. He’s not my real father, but he calls me his daughter. Of course, I call him Father.

When I saw him first time, it was about 20 years ago. We worked at the same factory, but our sections were different. He is curt, so many people don’t like him.

First I didn’t like him as other guys, but when I realized, we became a family.

He has a lot of hobbies.
The first thing that he saw me was TAKETONBO. It is a toy for kids made of bamboo. It is like a blade of helicopter. When Asa-chan and I went to Australia, he gave us many TAKETONBO. He said we would give someone in Australia.

BLUE OR GREEN

(2007-03-23)
One of today’s newspaper’s articles is about a signal. Japanese call the green signal blue. My sister has lived in the U.S. for over 20 years, but she said she still called it blue sometimes.

There is no conclusion on that article. Blue is really popular color in Japan. It says that in an ancient Japan, there were only 4 expressions for colors, black, white, red and blue. So, everything classified blue or red. Only those colors change noun to adjective when you put on ‘i’ (い) after those words.

We call green things blue, like grass, vegetable, leave, ect.
While green uses for something new, like babis or young leves.

Blue(ao) and red(aka) have a nice ring. Today, I looked at a signal. Blue one was not blue. But it wasn’t green. It seemed blue green.
There is no border between colors. It is hard to express something with only one color.

NEVER LET ME GO

(2007-03-22)
KIF_0128.JPG
I bought an English book. One of this year’s resolutions is reading several English books. I decided to read one English book per ten Japanese books.

I have no idea which one I will buy. This time, I bought ‘Never Let Me Go’ written by Ishiguro Kazuo.
I ordered this book at my company, because my company gives us 10% discount. It was tough to buy it. I wrote about its information, but it was something wrong. So, I decided to buy it at Asahiya book store in Umeda.
Western books are on the seventh floor. I looked at some books. Halley Potter seemed easy to read. I thought I would buy it next time.

I found Never Let Me Go and looked at the price. It was about 1400 yen. I picked up the next book. Its price was about 1100yen. Those books seemed the same, so I asked a clerk those differences. She said it depended on the exchange rates. The same books sold the different prices. I thought I had to care about it.

Asahiya Book Store gave me a point card. Japanese really like a point card. She said if I collect 30 stamps, I can get one stamp per 1000yen, I can buy 1500yen book. The limit is two years. I don’t think I will buy 30000yen. But I collect it for the time being.

レンコンもなか

(2007-03-21)
My father said that he wanted to eat 'lotus roots Monaka'. What it 'the lotus roots Monaka'? Monaka is one of the Japanese sweets. Red bean paste is sandwiched between cookies made of rice powder. My father said those cookies were made of lotus roots. I couldn’t imagine that Monaka. Lotus root is vegetable. I thought that red bean paste was sandwiched between sliced lotus roots. But how is the taste like????
I bought them and gave them to my father. He opened the wraps and showed me them.
They were normal Monaka. They just had ‘lotus root’ shape.
I thought it was really tough to explain something.

今日も歩きました

(2007-03-20)
I went to the office in Hirakata again. I lost my way last week, so I looked at a map again and decided to walk along the river. It is a roundabout course but not dangerous. There is a road only for pedestrian along the river.

I walked and looked at the river. The water seemed clean and not deep. It seemed only several centimeters depth. Many birds stood on the riverbed.
I thought I would hit the place that I had lost my way last week, but when I realized, I’ve already passed that place.

From the station to the route 1 is about 3 kilometers. It wasn’t too long for me. But after that, I had to walk more than one kilometer. I felt it was really long.
Anyway, I arrived at the office before 8 o’clock. Next week, I want to bring my camera and take some birds. And I have to wear sunglasses because the sun shines in front of me.

GOOD BYE DION...

(2007-03-19)
I changed an Internet provider. I used DION. They have many problems and their customers always complain. The customers have the same problems, but DION doesn’t solve the problems.
My biggest problem is that I can’t use a phone. When I talk to someone, the connection is broken itself. Or when I pick up the phone, I can’t hear anything. I use DION IP phone.
My computer doesn’t connect to the Internet often. Even if I cannot use the Internet, it isn’t a big problem, because the Internet is just my hobby. But IP phone is a big problem. If someone calls me and there is no answer, I think that guy is very surprised.
I talked about it to DION. But they didn’t listen to me seriously.
When I called DION and said that I wanted to dissolve the contract, a woman asked me the reason. I said I couldn’t connect the Internet. She said you couldn’t connect the Internet sometimes. I said “often”.
Now I use eo fiber optics. It works well now. I don’t want to change providers anymore, because I need too much time to change the computer settings.

I LOST MY WAY...

(2007-03-13)
I walked today, too. I went to another office today. Last night I looked at a map, and checked the course from the station to the office. It is about 4 kilometers.

I woke up early, and left home around 6:30A.M. I started to walk around 6:55A.M.
There was no wide street, so I went through a residential street. I thought I would hit a wide street but I didn’t. I met a woman and asked her the distance. She was very kind, and I could see one of bus stops.
I thought I walked along that street. But I couldn’t see the next bus stop. I walked about 15 minutes and I found the next bus stop. That bus stop wasn’t the bus stop that I thought. I lost my way. I asked a guard at a school. He was kind, too.
After that, I walked, walked, walked and walked. Finally I arrived at the Route One. It wasn’t far from there to the office. But I have already been tired.
When I arrived at the office, it was 8:07A.M.
I thought I had to bring a map.
By the way, I could see many flowers today. But I couldn’t see them enough. Next time when I will walk, I want to enjoy watching natures.

I GAINED WEIGHT...

(2007-03-12)
I went to a complete medical checkup with Kiyomi last Saturday. I haven’t received the result yet, but I have to do three things.

The first one is that I have to reduce my weight. Since I moved to the new office, it was about 1 and half years ago, I gained 5 kilograms. I know the reason. I eat snacks everyday.
To reduce my weight, I decided a couple of things.
1. I walk from Kyobashi to Kitahama everyday. This morning was the first day to try it. It is about 4 kilometers. I walked along a railway, and I arrived at Temmabashi Station soon. From Temmabashi to Kitahama is not far. I walked about 30 minutes. I like walking, so I think I can continue it if I don’t have a backache.
2. I don’t eat snacks at the office. One of my co-worker said that my desk was like a sweets country. He was true. About one third of my desk is sweets. I don’t buy sweets myself, but everybody gives me. I have to stop to eat them.
3. I eat slowly. I always eat quickly and don’t chew enough. I know it is a bad habit.

I try those things and check my weight every Sunday. If I can’t reduce my weight, I have to think a next move.

READING GLASSES

(2007-03-09)
Michael Jackson is in Japan now. He visited Bic Camera and Tokyo Disney Land. Last year, he went to the same places. He seems he really likes Japan.

He held a party for his fans last night. One ticket was 400,000yen. Ummm…. Expensive. He might pay Bic Camera that money for the things that he bought there. His fans didn’t think 400,000 yen was expensive because they could take pictures with Michael.

He wore sunglasses as usual. But when he made a speech, he took his sunglasses, and wore reading glasses. Even if he is a big star, and even if he changes his face several times, he couldn’t change his eyes. He can’t help getting old.

A few weeks ago, I bought some comic books. It is tough to read for me because of small letters.

Michael and I are the same generation. I always felt there was a big distance between he and I, but now, I feel he is a human like us.

KAMIGATA FOOD FAIR

(2007-03-08)
Kamigata Food Fair has been held in Keihan Department Store again. I will go there a couple of times. I looked at a flier this morning. I feel I’ve already eaten some of them.
I want to buy, monaka, a pudding, a cream puff, ohagi….. I can’t decide what I will buy.

Then I realized. Many sweets are the limited number. So, if you want to buy them, you should go there just after the department store opens. I remember that many people rushed to and ran up the escalator. Scary…. I can’t do that.
I always go there 6 or 7:00P.M. They haven’t had enough selections.
We have a proverb that “Nokori Monomiha Fukuga Aru.”(Sometimes the left are the better than the wine.) It means that the last one is sometimes lucky. But I think there is no “lucky” in this case.
Anyway, I will visit there with complain.

RUNNY NOSE

(2007-03-07)
I have a pollen allergy. It’s terrible. I wear a mask anytime and it’s helpful. I have a runny nose. I feel itch not only my nose but also my head. It is terrible, too.

Last weekend, I visited my ancestors’ grave. Of course, I wore a mask. When I arrived there, I didn’t feel anything. But later, I had a terrible runny nose. It didn’t stop. I blew my nose several times but it was endless. It was like a broken tub water. Finally, I rolled tissue, and put it in my nasal cavity.

While I waited for a bus, I still had to blow my nose. I thought I couldn’t go anywhere. But several minutes later, it stopped suddenly.

I talked to my friend about that story. She said she thought it was because real flowers. That reminded me.
Many people take medicines. I am working at the pharmaceutical company but I don’t like medicine. I really want to live at a place without pollinosis.

KIDS IN TSURUMI-RYOKUCHI PARK

(2007-03-05)
You can see seasonal news every year. For example, the snow covered golden temple, autumn color of Arashiyama. My favorite one is a big ice rock in Tennouji zoo. On the hottest day of the year, Tennouji zoo presents a big ice rock to a polar bear. I always feel sorry for a polar bear. It is really tough for him to live in Osaka.
Today’s newspaper showed us seasonal news. Kids played in a fountain in Tsurumi-ryokuchi Park. I see this news every early summer. You can see many kids playing there. The sign says, “KEEP OUT”, but nobody listen to it. When I see this news, I always think I want to be a kid.
This news is too early this year. We can see many signs of global warming.

KOBATAKE-SEISEI NO PET SOUDAN

(2007-03-02)
Today’s Kobatake-Sensei’s topic is an accident. Pets sometimes involve into some kinds of accidents. The most frequent one is a car accident. Many pets lose their legs, and sometimes their lives.
Inside of houses is also dangerous. A bird died because of gas. A woman burned a nonstick frying pan with no-water. So, the pan produced poisonous gas.
Another example is that a cat licked a knife with food, and cut its tongue.
The worst one is that a dog swallowed human’s pills, which were headache specifics. It took 10-pill and it was lethal dose. The dog died three days later.
Kobatake-Sensei said there were many dangerous things in our house, like ash or fertilizer.
Having pets is really fun, but we have to take care of them a lot.

I OPERATED ULTRA-MAN.

(2007-03-01)
I operated Ultra-man last night.

I sometimes have a dream that I change to Ultra-man and I fight against monsters.

The dream of last night was a little different.
I am on Ultra-man’s head. There is a small window on his head. I can see his brothers through the window. The window has opened.
Then Garamon attacks me. He breathes fire. I close the window.

The dream ended. Ultra-man’s head was too small to ride on. I saw a big Garamon’s face under my nose. I was really excited. I think I really wanted to be a hero.
