AN ENGLISH AGREEMENT

(2009-01-31)
I went to Tokyo to take an English lesson, which is ‘How to read an English Contract’.

Have you ever read a contract or an agreement before?
It is really difficult for me. It is written in Japanese, though.

I sometimes have to read an agreement written in English, which is one of the hardest works for me.

There was a rental meeting space in Akihabara.
The number of the students is seven or ten, someone was young and someone was around 40 years old.
I think our levels of English are almost the same.

The instructor is a professor of Meiji University but he used to work at Itochu.

His lecture was easy to understand.
I felt I could read English Agreement easily.

My company paid for about 80000yen to take this lesson, so I have to work more and more.

LISTEN TO THE RADIO

(2009-01-29)
Recently I try not to watch T.V.

I used to tune on the T.V. just after I came home.
My T.V. had made noise until I went to sleep.

I thought it was not a good habit.
I have a radio tuner but it didn’t work because I didn’t connect an antenna.

A few days ago I bought a divider of antenna cable, divided T.V. antenna cable, and connected one cable to the radio tuner.

So now I can listen to the radio.

Radio programs are good B.G.M., so I can read and study while I’m listening to the radio.

I haven’t listened to the radio for a while.
The number of FM broadcast station has been getting more and more while I didn’t know.
When I listened to the FM, there were only two stations; FM OSAKA and FM NHK.
The programs of FM NHK have changed a lot. They usually used to air classical music, but now most of their programs are pop music.

I don’t remember which program I listened to last night, but that program was really international.
They aired many countries’ music, and they spoke many languages.
It was really interesting.

I want to stop watching T.V., but I still want to watch NARUTO.
This is the next assignment of this year.

DANCING UDON AGAIN

(2009-01-28)
090128danchingudon

Swimmer and I went to Dancing Udon (Odoru Udon) because I had work overtime and I think he worried about it.

I said ‘overtime’, but I could leave the office around 6:30 P.M., so it wasn’t late.

At Dancing Udon, we ordered Maitake-ontama with seaweed.

Maitake is one of mushrooms. They deep-fry it. Then maitake will be crispy and tasty.

Ontama is egg. They dress udon noodles with raw egg.

Before we eat, we put some soy source on it.

I can’t explain how delicious it is.

Please go and try Dancing Udon.

THE NEW YEAR PARTY

(2009-01-26)
090126HOTELNIKKO1My division had the New Year Party last Friday.
I always select a banquet room, and this time I selected Hotel Nikko because I had a discount ticket.

The system of eating is Viking; it means you can eat as much as you want.

Sunny and I don’t drink, so we ordered the free soft drink course, and the other guys ordered the New Year Party Course, which is including Alcohol and dinner.

First, we went to pick up many dishes. Sunny and I didn’t work well because the others really liked to bring foods.

Balloon Girl moved to our division since last December, but the locations of our offices are different places, so we asked many many questions to her.

By the way, I don’t like Viking.
One reason is that a food corner is always too small, and many people rush to the same place.
I always wait until people leave the food place, but after they left there is nothing to eat.
Another reason is that I’m lazy, and I don’t want to pick up food by myself.

But this Viking is really good. The food corner isn’t big, but there is enough space. And they have enough food, so whenever we go to the food corner, they always prepare enough food. I’m really satisfied.

Their sweets are also really good. I ate several small cakes, and all of them were good taste.

Another good point is their services.
As I’ve already told you, we ordered two soft drink courses and three alcohol courses.
Restaurants usually don’t accept this offer, because they’ll never know which customers drink alcohol. However, they accepted our offer. It is really rare.

Our dinnertime was 2 hours, but we stayed more than 2 hours. However, they didn’t tell us to leave.
Swimmer was on a business trip on that day.
He came to the party just before we left.
Hotel Nikko brought him a glass of water, and we brought a few foods for him, but they didn’t charge for his food. When I went to ANA Hotel Viking, they charged.
I think it is a small thing but Hotel Nikko service makes me happy.
I want to go there one more time.

Only one bad thing is my stomach. My stomach isn’t big enough.
I need a big stomach as a sumo wrestler.

鉄人カレー(iron man curry)

(2009-01-23)
I ate Tetsujin Curry yesterday.

January 22nd is the day of Curry, because I heard that the school lunch started on that day and many children love curry and rice.

Tetsujin Curry is not special curry.
I can see Tstsujin number 28th's characters on the cans.
I saw these cans on the newspaper about a few years ago.
The newspaper said they were sold in Hyogo prefecture, but I could buy them on the Internet.

Since then, I have wanted to eat them. However, I thought a can was too much for me, so I didn’t eat.

Last night was the day of curry, so I decided to eat Tetsujin Curry.
Its taste wasn’t special, but curry is always delicious.
I have one more can, and I have to eat it until this September.

MY NEW BAG

(2009-01-22)
I sometimes watch ‘Shop Channel’, which is a TV shopping program.
The goods that they sell are sometimes cheap.
Many women love to buy on the TV shopping, but I’ve never bought before.

The reason why I don't buy is if I buy something once, I would buy endless.

But finally, I bought a bag a few days ago.

I usually use a A4-size bag. A4 is a paper size, which is about 20cm × 30 cm.
I bought a A4 size bag about 5 years ago, and a few weeks ago it tore.
Since then I visited bag shops several times, but I couldn’t find a good one.
I went to Keihan Department Store as usual. I wanted to buy the same bag, which was I used to use, but its price was 17000yen, very expensive. It wasn’t made of laser, though.

At that time, I saw a cute A4 size on TV.
I browsed through the Internet and ordered afterwards.

A few days ago, I received that bag.
Shop Channel gave me 3000yen discount ticket. If I buy something one more time, I can get it for a discount price.
Of course, I don’t want to buy anymore.
But I think many housewives are hooked by their business strategy.

KIKUYA NO ZENZAI

(2009-01-21)
090121kikuya

Lately, Swimmer seems fine, so I wanted to celebrate his getting well.
Now, he has banned eating meat and sweets. However he says he can eat Japanese sweets, so we decided going to eat Japanese sweets.

Kikuya is a traditional Japanese sweet shop.
They have a café in their main shop. I went there a few months ago and asked their business hour.
They answered their café had closed.
It was a big surprise for us. There aren’t enough Japanese sweet cafe in Japan. Here is Japan though.

Swimmer said there was a Kikuya café in Hilton hotel, so we went there several days ago.
We ordered millet zenzai, which is his favorite.
It was too sweet. I thought my teeth would melt. However it was really good.
Lately, Japanese sweets aren’t sweet, so I sometimes really regret.

NAKANOSHIMA KURABU

(2009-01-20)
090120nakanoshimakurabu1
Nakanoshima-Kurabu is a famous restaurant for an omelet-rice(an omelet containing fried rice).
I have passed there several times, but it has been always very crowded. Many many people are waiting there.

Last week, I had a chance to go there with Swimmer.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable. I felt I went back to the Meiji era (of course, I have never been to Meiji era).

We arrived there around 11:30A.M., and it wasn’t crowded. We had sheets soon.

Of course, we ordered omelet rice. About 80% of customers ordered omelet rice, I think.

By the way, do you like an omelet-rice?
I LOVE it.
But an omelet-rice is always a little deep, so I always get tired of eating while eating an omelet-rice.

Nakanoshima-kurabu’s omelet-rice is a little light.
So, first it was just not good enough, but afterwards it taste was getting better and better.

We also ate cakes. Their cakes were also really good.

If you want to visit there, you have to go to on weekdays.
Good Luck!

WHAT IS A MANNER?!

(2009-01-19)
090117newyear1

My manner class held the New Year ceremony yesterday.
About 30 members gathered at L-Osaka.
All of us brought something to eat each other, so it seemed like a potluck party.

First, we exchanged greetings of the New Year, and then we had the Otoso Ceremony.

We dished up our food on trays.
Our teacher had made Sanma-sushi and Kobumaki-sushi. All dishes were really good.
I cooked pumpkin, but its taste wasn’t good, so I bought Shiroae at Senbayashi shopping arcade.

That ceremony was really nice. We ate, drank, and talked a lot.
I spent a really good time.

After the ceremony, we washed dishes and went home.
There was much garbage.
Someone asked who would throw out this garbage, so one of a person of influence said they took them and threw them out at some convenience stores.
I thought what the manner was.

If I have a chance, I want to show you the Otoso Ceremony.

A LASER DISK PLAYER

(2009-01-17)
PIONEER is going to stop its Laser Disk player product.
Laser Disk is not popular now, but before DVD software was sold, some movies fans bought LD software.

I also have a lot of LD software.
Lately I started to copy them to DVD disks.

I saw this news the day before yesterday.

I was surprised because I didn’t know they still produced the LD player.
Who buy it?
Some customers still have LD software like me.
The reason that I copy LD is that my LD player will break someday and I have to copy them before it will break.

I will have done to copy them in a month, but I want to keep the LD player even if I have finished copying.

TORINAGO

(2009-01-15)
090114とりなご
I went on a business trip to the Kyoto factory yesterday.
It was really cold and I saw lots of snow.

After work, my co-workers and I went to eat Kamo Nabe (a duck stew).
My co-workers always say Torinago’s duck stew is really good, but I have had no chance to go there before.

It doesn’t seem special, but its soup and green onions are really good.
You can eat leeks like eating noodles.
Their fried chicken is also good. Their fried chicken is big enough to make me satisfied.
I ate two pieces of fried chickens.

I ate too much, so I couldn’t walk afterwards.

Japanese nabe is really good, especial winter season.

MY FAVORITE SHOES

(2009-01-13)
Today I wore my favorite shoes.
I bought them several years ago, but I didn’t ware them a lot.

I have some shoes. I kept them individual boxes and put them on a shoebox.
There were some stuff in front of the shoebox; for example a bike, umbrellas, so I couldn’t open the shoebox.

During the winter holiday, I removed the doors of shoebox and put my shoes in the shoebox.
So now I can choose shoes very easy.

When I put the shoes in the shoebox, I was very surprised, because I have already forgotten that I had the shoes which I had bought.

The bad thing is that there is no light in the front door, so it is hard to see my shoes.

A NEW DIGITAL CAMERA

(2009-01-12)
090112

I bought a new digital camera because my old camera doesn’t work well lately.

I went to Yodo(ya)bashi camera many times, and looked at compact digital cameras.

They have many kinds of cameras, so I couldn’t decide which one I would buy.

One day, I decided buying Rocho’s one, and I checked the price on the Internet.

Then I found a good one. It was made by Sanyo.
I know about 70-80% of Japanese digital cameras are made by Sanyo, and that camera is a reimport. Lately Japanese yen is very high, so I could buy that camera for 10000yen.

I ordered this camera on the Internet last year, and a couple of days ago I recieved it.

I haven’t used it yet.
I only use it in my apartment.

I will show the pictures taken by that camera as soon as possible.

WHERE DOES THE GOD LIVE IN CHINA?

(2009-01-07)
I took the first Chinese lesson of this year.
During the winter vacation, I haven’t studied, so last night lesson was terrible.

We talked about our vacations.
I said that my father and my I visited a shrine.
I asked him if there was a shrine in China, so he said there was no shrine.
I have thought most of those cultures had come from China.

Japanese cultures are flexible.
There are thousands of gods in Japan. Japanese don’t believe a god, but they really like to visit a shrine. And when they really wish something; for example) examination, ill, etc.; they pray to a god.
Visiting shrine is kind of sightseeing.

I also like to visit shrine.
Some of them have beautiful gardens and the long approach to a shrine.
If there are no people around me, I feel I can go to the world of gods.
A temple and a shrine are very close, but not the same.
Many foreign people confuse them.
It is difficult to know the different culture.

WEDGWOOD

(2009-01-06)
Wedgwood, which is a ceramics maker, went bankrupt.
I was surprised because I just went to see a Wedgwood exhibit a few months ago.
They have a long history.
It was established in 1759. Since then, they have produced many kinds of ceramics.
I wasn’t interested in it before, but since I visited the Wedgwood exhibit, I have wanted to buy their ceramics.

According to Asahi Shinbun, about 10% of their customers are Japanese and the people who live in around Japan.

I still want to buy one.
I wish I can buy it for an inexpensive price.

THE FIRST DAY OF THE OFFICE

(2009-01-05)
Finally, the year of 2009 started.
My office is too cold. I have to wear a coat.
By the way, I changed my desk around.
It was not a big change but I feel something new.
A guy who has a desk in front of my desk is messy and noisy.
I’m good at an imitation of him. I regret that I can’t show you my performance.

Mr. Oily Man sits diagonally opposite.
He is noisy, too.
Someone said that a bunch of people around me is a zoo.

Anyway, I want to spend a good year at my office.

A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

(2009-01-04)
A Happy New Year!
How are your New Year’s days?
My New Year’s days aren’t special.
I wake up early everyday and clean up my room.

Before the New Year’s days started, I decided reading a couple of books and watching Chinese DVD. However I haven’t done anything, and today is the last day of the New Year’s holidays.

By the way, I started copying video tapes and Laser Disks.
I want to tidy them up because I have too many tapes and I’ve already not watched video tapes.

While I copied the tapes, sometimes I watched them.
I could see old TV commercials.
Some stars have gone somewhere already.
The surprise is that I could see the news which Mr. Koizumi announced his candidacy of the Prime Minister.
I guess Mr. Koizumi has already forgotten the time of this news.

Today I woke up at 5:45A.M. Last night I fell asleep at 2:00A.M. though.
I will take a nap today.
