TAIPEI 2009 -8/20-5-

(2009-08-30)
090820-07

We went to a sweet museum.
It was a tour, so a man picked us up at 老爺酒店(raoyie hotel).

郭元益 is a sweet shop in Taiwan and they has a long history.
They have two sweet museums and we visited one of them.

First, they showed us a film of their history.
It was established in 1867.

We made pineapple cakes afterwards.
They prepared ingredients, so we only mixed them and wrapped dried pineapple in it.
It was really interesting.
It is like squeezing mud.

While baking, we looked around the museum. They showed us the traditional culture of Taiwan.
Sweet is really important for Taiwan culture.
They celebrate a birth of baby with sweets, or they send many sweets when they marry.

(2009-08-29)
We visited a fortune teller?
Visiting fortune tellers is really popular in Taiwan.
Taiwanese has their own fortune teller and they visit them when they were worried about something.

I have never been interested in it but Yumi-chan wanted to go to.

We had to walk about 20 minutes.
It was a really hot day, so I got tired.

My image of fortune tellers is really suspicious but the fortune teller seemed a typical middle age woman.
While we were waiting for Yumi-chan, we looked at pictures on a wall.
Many Japanese stars visited this fortune teller.
It smelled kinds of business.

Afterwards we visited 行天宮.
It is a shrine.
I don’t like to visit shrines or temples in Taiwan because people don’t go to there for sightseeing.
Taiwanese seems really serious, and when Tusru-chan and I visited a temple in Taiwan, I was really ashamed because we were the only guys to visit for sightseeing.

This time I just looked around the shrine and left there soon.

The second lesson of the day was to learn differences of some tea leaves.

As you probably know, all tea leaves are the same leaves.
The difference is the time of roasting.

This time they had three samples.
One was ‘種包(sorry, I can’t read it)’, one was ‘烏龍茶(oorong tea)’, and one was ‘東方美人(TongfangMeiren)’.

種包 is really close to Japanese tea. The color of tea is almost yellow green.
烏龍茶 is really popular and you probably drank it before.
東方美人 is really strange. A special cicada bites tea leaves and makes special tea, it is 東方美人.

It was a really interesting. I haven’t known there was the big difference between any tea leaves.

A lecturer was beautiful and spoke Japanese really well.

Afterwards, we poured tea by ourselves and ate some Chinese handmade cakes.
The time flowed really slowly.
It was really comfortable.

TAIPEI 2009 -8/20-2-

(2009-08-27)
When I got back to the hotel, it was about 7:30a.m.
My friends prepared to leave.

They had breakfast at MacDonald’s.
MacDonald’s in Taiwan does not seem they have a special menu.
The menu is the almost same as Japanese menu.
Sanzo ate a bagel and Yumi-chan ate pan cakes.
They seemed really delicious.

In the morning, we go to learn ‘Taiwan tea’.
We took two courses.
The first lesson was the way of pouring Taiwan tea.

Pouring Taiwan tea is not the same as pouring Japanese tea.
Some part of pouring Taiwan tea is very efficient.

We usually pour tea to tea cups directly. But in Taiwan, they pour tea from a teapot to a chahai(茶海, tea sea). And then they pour tea to tea cups.
If you use chahai, the tea taste is always average.

The same point of Taiwan and Japan is that we really love drinking tea.
Drinking tea makes us relax.

TAIPEI 2009 -8/20-1-

(2009-08-26)
090820-01
On the 20th.
I woke up early as usual.
Yumi-chan and Sanzo have been sleeping, so I left the hotel and went to a morning market.

When I arrived at the morning market, it hasn’t opened yet.
Some stalls were preparing to open.
There is a park along the morning market and some people were exercising.
I wasted the time while I was watching them and talking to a cat.

Afterwards, I walked along the street again.

The difference between a night market and a morning market is goods of selling.

At the night market, they sell cooked foods, as ramen.
But the morning market, they sell kitchen stuffs, as vegetables or raw fish.

I was really hungry, so I bought bananas and fruit called ryugan(竜眼, dragon eye).
The banana was really sweet and delicious. You can’t eat the same taste banana in Japan.

I saw a woman who sold bread.

On the MRT, I met her. She sat on next seat. She had something which was really sweet. I really wanted to know what she had and I really wanted to eat it.

I met her again.

Of course I bought that bread. It was really cheap and delicious.
I really love Taiwan.

TAIPEI 2009 -8/19-4-

(2009-08-25)
At night, we went to a night market.

Taiwan is famous of a night market and you can see night markets anywhere.

Last time when Tsuru-chan and I had been to Taipei, we had visited two of them.
Shilin(士林)night market was the biggest but there were too many people there, so we got tired.
The night market at Rong Shang temple(龍山寺) was really interesting. You can see snakes, turtles, etc.

This time we went to LinJanJie(臨江街).
I think this night market is really normal. You can’t see so many people and you can eat delicious foods.
We looked around the night market and ate noodle and tofu.
I think this noodle is made of rice vermicelli.
The taste of soup is a bonito. The brown part of this food is spicy and sweet.
I forgot the price of those foods but they are really cheap.

I heard many families don’t eat dinner at their homes. They eat at those night markets.
I think marring Taiwanese is a good idea.

We got back to the station by taxi and arrived at the Taipei zoo station.
There are pandas at the zoo, so I wanted to see them, but my friends didn’t.
If I have a chance, I want to visit there again.

We went to Taipei 101.
It was the second visit for me.
Taipei 101 is the tallest building in Asia.
Last time when I visited was a day time, but this time I could see the beautiful night view.

TAIPEI 2009 -8/19-2-

(2009-08-23)
09081903
We had to wait at the reception because they hadn’t prepared our room yet.
We waited for about 20 minutes there, checked in, and left the hotel.

Our plan of that day was visiting Maokon.

The Chinese characters of Maokon are 猫空. It means ‘the cat sky’ in Japanese.

Maokon is famous for tea leaves and there are many tea houses there.

To get there, the easiest way is taking a ropeway. The ropeway connects with the MRT station but the ropeway is out of business now, so we got on a taxi at one of the MRT station which is close to Maokon.

The tour guide said that the MRT often stopped, so it was better to take a taxi at the hotel, but there was no problem when we got on the MRT.

The taxi drove through a mountain road, so I was sick a little.

We got off the taxi at the tea museum but it was closed because of repairing.

We walked to one of tea houses.
We ordered tea and some sweets.
We didn’t know how to pour tea, so I asked them to teach how to pour.

Taiwanese was really polite as usual.
A man poured tea for us.

It was a hot day but the tea house in a mountain, so it was really confortable.
The taste of tea was really good and the sweets were also good.

We stayed there more than one hour.

THE FIRST DAY

I went to Taipei again.

This time I went with Yumi-chan and Sanzo who are the friends of a manner school.

If we have the purpose of this trip, I want to say that we went to learn Taiwan tea.

I left home around 6:30A.M.
It is the same time as I leave home as usual.

I met Sanzou at Moriguchi Station and met Yumi-chan at Kansai International Airport.

We arrived at Taipei around noon but when we arrived at the hotel, it was 3:00 .am.
I thought it was late.

It couldn’t be helped because it was a group tour…

WHO ARE YOU??

(2009-08-18)
When I woke up this morning, my eyelids were heavy.

I looked at a mirror.

I was really surprised!

There was a guy who I had never met before.

Of course, that guy was me.

I couldn’t understand what had happen to me.

But that was Tetsu-papa.

I guess it is because I drank too much water, and I was sleeping face down.
I wanted to take a day off, but I had to go to work…

Today’s astrology said that today’s my star was terrible.
I don’t usually believe it but I agreed today.

YOKAI PARADISE NIPPON

(2009-08-17)
During the Obon vacation, I visited several places.

On 14th August, I went to the Kyoto International Manga museum.
They have held a Yokoai Paradise Nippon.

It is too hard to translate Yokai from Japanese into English.
Yokai is a Japanese monster, but they live close to our daily life.

This museum is ‘manga museum’, so I thought they showed me Japanese comics, like Mizuki Shigeru or Umedu Kazuo.

But they showed me a large variety of exhibitions.

They said that the Yokai was born in Edo area.
So, they showed me many types of Yokai drawn in Edo Area.
Some of them seemed really cheap. I thought kids draw those pictures.
However, they were really interesting.

Thousands of gods live in Japan, as you know.
And I think the numbers of Yokais is the same as the numbers of gods.

Yokai is sometimes really scary but sometimes really friendly.

By the way, many European people visited the museum.
I heard that Japanese manga was really popular in Europe but I didn’t believe it.

But I think it is true.
It is really rare to listen to foreign languages except English, Chinese, and Korean, but in this museum I could listen to many languages.

It was really interesting experience.

RIDING BIKE

(2009-08-15)
Obon vacation started on 12th and will finish on 16th.

I wanted to do something during the Obon vacation and I decided to ride on a bike everyday.

The first day, I rode on a bike about 6 kilometers
The second day and the third day, I rode about 10 kilometers.

This morning, I decided to visit my mother’s grave by bike.

I think it is about 10-kilometer distance.

I left home around 5:00A.M.

This morning was really cold but I ran fast and I got warm soon.

There weren’t so many cars because it was not an early morning but also Obon season.
I sometimes stopped and looked at a map.

I live in Kadoma City and my mother lives at a temple in Uehonmachi.

10-kilometer wasn’t too long for me, but the temple is built on a Uemachi-Daichi(the Uemachi plateau), so when I climb the plateau, it was hard.

I arrived at the temple around 6:00A.M.
But the temple has been closed.

I prayed in front of the temple and left there.

I ate Asa-mac at MacDonald’s on a way home.

I lost my way when I went back but, somehow, I arrived at my apartment.
It was 7:45A.M.

Riding bike gives me not only healthy lives but also fresh feelings.
If I can, I want to keep to ride once a week.

KITAHACHI

(2009-08-13)
I went to eat Tempura for lunch at Kitahachi.

It was a party of Swimmers section. So I don’t know why he brought me.

Kihachi’s special is the young of Ayu.
It is really good and beautiful. But I don’t feel I eat Ayu.

I have nothing to say about these tempuras.

Please look at pictures and enjoy.

NARUTO

(2009-08-12)
I went to see the Naruto Movie today.

The story is about a guy who used to be a Ninja of Konoha.
He didn’t have a special skill of Ninja, so he left Konoha and created a new type of Ninja.

He wanted to get a special power of Kakashi and he tried to add Kakashi’s power….

Ummm.
I can’t explain well as usual. I’m sorry.

This year’s movie isn’t more exciting than last year’s movie.

But I was crying at some scenes.
I think I am an only one person who is crying when watching Naruto.

You can see some old characters, for example, Gaara, so if you want to meet them, please go to see Naruto.

OBON VACATION

(2009-08-11)
What is your plan during Obon vacation?

A couple of days ago, I haven’t had any plans but now I have several plans!

I got some free ticket.

One is a ticket of comic museum.
Now they have held a Japanese ghost exhibit.
The exhibition is good in this season.

One is a ticket of The National Museum of Art, Osaka.

Now they have held the Louvre Museum Exhibit.
Yoshiko said that it was boring but the free ticket is really attractive.

The last one is a movie ticket.
I want to see Naruto!!!

I wanted to study Chinese during the Obon vacation, but I don’t think I have the time to study…

Burdigala,

(2009-08-10)
090810-1
I went to a French restaurant, Burdigala, last Saturday.

It is located on the second basement in HERBIS PLAZA.

Yoshiko has visited that restaurant before and she said they had many kinds of wines.

We ordered the cheapest course menu.

It included that an apperizer, pasta, a main dish, coffee and dessert.
Each meal has several options.

I chose a soup for apperizer, and chicken for main dish.

090810-03
The soup was made with tomatoes. It was cold soup and a little sour.
It was a really hot day, so it made me fresh.
The white one in the middle of soup is an onion. It was also really good.

090810-04
I ordered dried mullet roes and mioga ginger pasta.
I couldn’t image that ‘myoga ginger pasta’. It was a little bitter but I enjoyed crunchy texture. The combination of myoga and dried mullet roes were perfect!!

090810-05
The main dish was a grilled chicken with red wine source and ….. I don’t know what it was.

I really love chickens and when I go to a restaurant, I always order chicken. But I haven’t eaten chicken wine source.
The wine source fervor brought me to the heaven…
And the white source, I think it probably a pumpkin or something, was sweet and creamy.
I enjoyed both sources.

090810-7
They also have some options for desserts.
All of them seemed delicious but I had to choose only one.

I looked at the menu for a while and I decided to eat a peach tart and peach ice cream because they had held a peach campaign.

This dessert was also good but compared with the other dishes, it wasn’t special.
It means the other meals are really really good!!

I ordered a glass of champagne and I pay for 6500yen.
For the price, it is an excellent balance of value for money and functionality.
I want to go there sometime.

KIKUYA

(2009-08-08)
090808
Kikuya is a Japanese sweet shop.
Several shops have spread in Osaka but the main shop is located close to the Kitahama Station.

The Kitahama shop has a cafe but it has been closed for a while.

Recently it re-opened, so I visited there with Swimmer.

These are the sweets at that shop.

Swimmer ate ‘shaved ice’ and I ate ‘a parfait’.

The top of the parfait, there are two kinds of taste ice cream, vanilla and tea.
Under that, there is sweet red bean and shiratama.
The bottom of the parfait, there is mitsumame.

I haven’t eaten a parfait for a long time, so I was really happy.
Kikuya’s anko is enough sweet. Latest sweet shops anko isn’t sweet. So I like Kikuya’s anko.

I don’t know the taste of crashed ice. Swimmer only said, “It is cold!!”

Anyway, any sweets always make me happy.

THE ANTIQUE STREET

(2009-08-05)
As I said, there are many antique shops in Nishitemma area.

After I left the coffee shop, I walked around that area.

I was about 10:00A.M., and some shops prepared to open.

Some shops sold Japanese antiques and some shops sold European antiques.

I am interested in both of them, so I went to the shops which had already been opened.

I cannot tell you how wonderful they are.

Some shops sold ceramic dolls for reasonable prices.
I haven’t seen some of them before and they were delicate.

Even they are ‘the reasonable prices’, they were really expensive.

I just looked at them…

But I want to visit there sometimes.

A OFFEE SHOP

(2009-08-04)
090804-3
After I left the movie theater, I had 2 hours before I met my friend.
I had nothing to do…

Then I thought I might go to a café in Nishi-Temma.

There are many antique shops in Nishi-Temma.
I have found a cute café there, and I always have thought I have wanted to go to that café.

I arrived at the antique streets around 9:30A.M., and , of course, any shops didn’t open.

I looked for my favorite café but I couldn’t find it.

I went to another café.

It was an old fashioned style café.

I ordered a cup of coffee.
I looked at interiors.
I felt like that I went back to an early Showa era.

Unfortunately, I will close in a week.
I didn’t ask a master the reason why…

While I stayed in the café, it was raining. But when I left there, the rain stopped.

I thought this morning wasn’t so bad.

THE WORST DAY

(2009-08-03)
Last Saturday morning was the worst morning in my life.

Last Friday night I read a newspaper.
It said that Naruto movie would be released the next day.

First I didn’t feel anything but a few seconds later I realized that the next day was the movie day.

As you probably know, the first days of the months are the movie days, so you can see movies for 1000yen.

I decided to go to see the Naruto movie.

On Saturday morning, I woke up before 5 o’clock, cleaned up a bathroom, did laundries, cleaned up my room, and left my apparent around 8A.M.

When I arrived at the E-Ma building, it was around 8:50 and the movie would start at 9:10.

I looked at the signs of movies but there was no Naruto poster.
I froze…
It was my big misunderstanding.
Naruto wasn’t screened at E-ma, it was playing at Nabio.

I worked very fast….

I got lots of sweat and I needed a lot of Oxygen.

Finally, I arrived at Nabio.
I looked at the sign.
So… it said that Naruto was full!!!!

It meant I couldn’t see the Naruto movie!!!!

Nooooo!!!

I couldn’t expect that so many people would rush to a movie theater such an early morning…

I felt really tired…

I LOVE....

(2009-08-02)
I woke up by a sound of rain.
It was 4:30A.M.
I was raining hard.
I thought I had to wear a rain ware when I left home.
"I will get up at 5:00A.M.."
I imagined many stepes until I arrived at the office.

Then I realized today was Sunday.

I don't have tp work...

I didn't know I love working.....
