We visited Fort Saint-Andre.

According to a leaflet;
Built to affirm the hegemony of the Captain monarchy over its neighbors in Avignon the Fort of Saint-Andre, which is very well preserved, exemplifies the degree of perfection attained by military architecture of the 14th century.
Dominating the Charterhouse of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon it can be considered as an outstanding monument.

You can see it anywhere in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon.
We had to climb a path to get there.
Even if I didn’t bike, I had to exercise everyday.

Some tourists visited there. We looked at the building but we didn’t go to see the inside.

After we saw it, we got back to the hotel.
I was really surprised.
The point where we got at from the fort was just in front of the hotel.

We got back to the hotel, picked up our bags, took a bas, and went to Avignon.

Avignon is located in the south of France.
The population is 88 thousands.
The most flourished period was 14th century. It was called second Roman.
Avignon is enclosed by walls. The total walls are 4.3kilometers.

The town seemed a typical sightseeing spot. It is not the one which I had expected.
