TAKASHIMAYA -2-

(2007-05-23)
たんす

Next, I went to see cutting glass. One of Meissen crafts workers was demonstrating. It was very curious, but nobody was around him. I looked at it only for a few seconds and left there.
Finally, I went to see a drawer. The shop was located on the 5th floor but it was very hard to find. Nobody was there either, but I really wanted to see it, so I went into that shop.

The drawers were covered with Japanese lacquer, Urushi. The color was black. They were made about 5 years ago, but nobody had bought them. They were not only expensive but also too big.
They were 3,990,000 yen. They seemed expensive but they weren’t. I know you can buy only one drawer for the same price.
One drawer was 118centimeter wide. So if you want to put them on one of your room, you need a 6-tatami-mat-room. And that tatami-mat must be Kyou-m. If your room is in an apartment, you can’t put them on. Of course, you don’t have to put them on the same place, but if you put them the different places, their value will lose.

They were very reasonable, but I hadn’t bought them. I just wanted to see them. And they weren’t beautiful than I thought. If I buy a new drawer, I’ll definitely buy a red colored drawer. I saw it at Keiyan Department Store before, and now I love it.

I left Takashimaya Department Store, and got on a bus. There were only one or two buses in a hour from Nanba to Osaka, but the bus came soon.

I didn’t spend much money, but I could spend a productive day.
